Sephora VIB Sale Fragrance Wishlist ft @IamVonDutch!

We’re back again with last installment of the Sephora VIB Sale Wishlist series! Parts 1 & 2 are up already up of course! (You can click to read here and here, after you’re done with this post!) Finally, lets talk fragrances…

I’ve always wanted to get into fragrances, however I must admit – I KNOW NOTHING. Over the past couple months, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed @iamvondutch aka Vaugn‘s content! She’s a content creator right here in Trinidad, who displays her love specifically for relaxed hair, but indulges in lifestyle content as well. For the past couple weeks, she’s been teasing her perfume collection. I adore her content, so I’ve invited her to share her VIB Sale Fragrance Wishlist with us, (especially for the newbies like me) and she has graciously agreed! Continue reading to see what’s on her list for this year’s holiday sale!

Welcome Vaugn!

“Now, I must admit that I’m not a TOTAL newbie. With 18 bottles in my collection plus some samples, I do know some notes/types of scents that I like: sweet, fresh, fruity, floral, vanilla…However, I recently decided to dive deeper into the fragrance world to learn more about the whole range of notes & accords that make a fragrance and what makes a fragrance that I like. I ‘joined’ #perfumetok and followed a few perfumefluencers and chileee! Its a whole new world over there, lowkey makes me feel like I want to try everything! After looking at tiktok after tiktok, one curated list after another, I narrowed it down to a select few that are chillin’ in my Sephora cart right now:

  1. GIORGIO ARMANI MY WAY INTENSE $76, 10z/30ml
Giorgio Armani My Way Perfume - main accords and nortes

I’ve been seeing this one all over. Between this and the original, I’m leaning more towards the intense based on the reviews. (It seems to be a trend that the intense versions are usually more liked by the people). I like this list of main accords: the white florals and citrus sound like a great fresh scent, warmed up by the vanilla. I really do think I would enjoy this one.

2 & 3. VALENTINO VOCE VIVA / DONNA BORN IN ROMA both $75, 1oz

Valentino Voca Viva Perfume - main accords and notes

I’ve been eyeing these two, but based off the notes, I’m already leaning towards Voce Viva (above). The citrus and white florals again are pulling me in. The vanilla and musk to add depth and warmth to the fragrance. Donna Born In Roma (below) has quite a few accords that I like, but there’s just one red flag: that spicy. I first smelled pink pepper in one of the Kayali fragrances and didn’t particularly like it. So right now I’m hoping the ‘soft’ in ‘soft spicy’ works well for me. Plus, look at that bottle! It would look sooo good sitting in my collection.

4. THE 7 VIRTUES VANILLA WOODS $85, 1.7oz/50ml

The 7 Virtues Vanilla Woods Perfume - main accords and notes

With vanilla in the name, how could I not want this??? And then look at the notes. Its giving very much gourmand* vibes with the caramel too. Pear seems like it would be a nice fruity touch but I don’t particularly like rose in a fragrance because it usually gives very mature vibes. I’m hoping either its a nicely done rose, or everything else kinda covers it up.

Gourmand*- don’t mind me using fancy terms, I just learned this word. If you’re a newbie like me, a gourmand fragrance is basically one that gives ‘eat me’ vibes. The notes translate to an almost edible smell. And whooo doesn’t want to smell edible??

Fragrance shopping can run you up real quick, so don’t be fooled. I sure have two Sephora sample sets in my cart right now. That gives me the opportunity to properly try the scents, see how they work with my body chemistry AND if you purchase a sample set, you can redeem a full size of any one of the perfumes in the set, VIB Sale or not. Sounds like a win-win to me!”

Wow! I’m actually shook! I had no idea all of that went into choosing scents. I mean I knew, but didn’t actually know. Does that make sense, lol?

Thank you so much to Vaugn for taking the time to give us her picks, as well as educate us! She’s made this process a lot less complicated, and I’ve added one to my cart already. Sidenote – I was really glad when she agreed to do this, and I hope we can collab again.
I’ve also linked her profile so you can check her out, as well as all the fragrances she’s mentioned.

Thank you for reading friends, let me know if you own any of these and if not, which would you wanna try? Till next time.
