Local Accessory Retailers You Need to Check Out!

Okay, so we’ve highlighted why shopping local is necessary. Right? RIGHT! (Click here to catch up!)
Now, time for the fun part…actually shopping! Over the last couple of months, I have been making lists of local retailers that I’ve been interested in checking out. Of course, because my interests revolve around beauty, fashion, and the Caribbean living lifestyle, I had to start there! First up, fashion but more specifically – accessories!

My goal for the last few months was to finally buy accessories locally sold to review the products themselves along with the customer service, and the entire experience. I had the pleasure of doing so for three different businesses. Let’s get into it, shall we?

MOD PROJECT

Mod Project is an online jewelry retailer. I first found out about them last December while I was looking for a couple of last-minute gifts. I remember finding them on Instagram and being impressed with the range of earrings and bracelets available. I’d say they have a mix of very classy & colourful pieces. I purchased four pairs of earrings as gifts initially (which was a leap of faith honestly) but instantly fell in love with what I received and ordered two more pairs. I’d like to say that I’ve purchased about ten items from them, and haven’t been disappointed.

The ordering process is very simple! If you see something you like, send a DM to reserve, and they respond almost immediately. You are able to pick up in-store at C3 Shopping Centre or have it delivered to you. I’ve done both. Customer service is A1! I really adore them for this. They’re prompt in their responses and extremely friendly. When receiving orders, everything is nicely packaged. I’ve even been able to pick up in-store and deliver the items as they are, to friends as gifts.

They’re affordable but to make it even better, they currently have ongoing bundles for a reduced price. Check out their June Bundles highlight on IG!

UNCOMMON LILY

Uncommon Lily is another online jewelry retailer I found on Instagram. They’re currently based in South Trinidad but items can be shipped locally. I recently discovered them and my experience was pretty pleasant and seamless. Ordering, which is done through Instagram, is very easy and quick. I was even able to add on to my order the night before I picked up my package. I also really appreciate the packaging of their items. To me, Uncommon Lily has both classy and trendy pieces. Their range isn’t too extensive but I assume that will change with time.

OUTRIGHT APPAREL

If you’re looking for layered pieces of any kind – Outright Apparel is your go-to! Like most of the retailers mentioned, I also found OA on Instagram. From what I’ve seen, OA carries a vast variety of layered necklaces, stackable rings, bracelets, and anklets. They have a bit more range in jewelry from the previously mentioned retailers.

I loved ordering from here! It was especially easy because OA has a website and also an app (available only in the Google Play Store). I much prefer seeing what’s available online and placing my order this way. There were also multiple delivery options. I must say the customer service is also incredible. I had a small hiccup in the time I was able to receive my package and they were able to accommodate me.

My only complaint so far is with one purchase. Over time, one of the necklaces turned color a bit. This is to be expected as it is very affordable jewelry. However, I haven’t experienced that with any of the other pieces I’ve gotten from them, or any of the other retailers.

Overall, I would recommend all three retailers. I’ve had little to no issues with the products themselves. I’ve also had a great shopping experience with each local business. I wanted to stress that these are all locally sold and not locally made products (lookout for my next post!) I hope you check out at least one of them, and if you do – please message me! I’d love to see your purchase. All retailers are linked.

Are there any other jewelry retailers I should check out? List them in the comments below!

Thank you so much for reading! I’ll talk to you soon.

  1. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is magnificent blog. A fantastic read. I will definitely be back. Darline Neal Koller
