Whew girl! It’s been awhile since I’ve spoken about my favorites huh? I’ve been a tad bit busy with life, but writing and updating my blog always brings me so much joy!
For quite some time, I’ve been using the same ol products. Finally, last December I decided to get back in the swing of things. Some pretty dope products launched and it refreshed my love for makeup, skincare and fashion. I will admit – I’m extremely picky with items so a lot of it gets returned or passed on to friends. Additionally, what I love and value in products may be totally different from what you need or value in products. So while I recommend all of these – still do your own research.
With all the being said, I genuinely love all these items and highly recommend you try if it peaks your interest. All items will be linked for easy purchase. I’ll also inform you of places you can buy these items, right here in Trinidad!
Let’s get into it!
Skincare
Farmacy Very Clean Cherry Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm*
– This is the first step in my nighttime skin care routine. As the name suggests, I use this to remove my makeup at the end of the day. It’s the first part of my double cleanse. I bought this last December and haven’t looked back since. I use quarter size amount of this to remove a full face of makeup. It’s extremely gentle and non irritating. If you don’t like fragrance in your products at all – you’ll want to go with the regular line of this product. The cherry scent is extremely strong, and hard to ignore. As an added bonus, this product comes with spatula which is better for the longevity of the product. Love this stuff.
You can find it at Sephora or locally at Bella Russe.
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
– For quite some time I didn’t have this product in my skincare line up and I missed it so much! This is the absolute last step of my nighttime skincare routine. I use it to seal in all the products I used prior to putting this oil on. Even though I have oily skin, I love using at least one oil in my routine – and I’ve found that this is my favorite. It leaves me with soft, moisturized and dewy skin. It also helps fade hyperpigmentation on my cheeks.
You can of course find this at Sephora and The Ordinary.
Locally, it can be found at Pristine Image Company, Bella Russe, Skincare Junkies.
The Ordinary is never included in Sephora’s sales.
Ole Henrickson Balancing Force Oil Control Toner*
– Listen, this stuff is liquid gold to me! I’m on my second bottle and I’m obsessed. I really do think it gently exfoliates and cleans my pores, as well as help with oil production. I’ve found that I’ve broken out less after using this as well. I include this in both my morning and night time skin care routine. I make sure to use some type of SPF after I’ve included this in my routine during the day. It doesn’t have a crazy fragrance and the product lasts me at least two months. If you have oily skin, you need!
It can be found at Sephora, and locally at Bella Russe and Pristine Image Company.
Makeup
Ah, makeup has become fun again! However the products I’ve been using are basics.
MAC Cosmetics Lipliner – Spice
– Girl, I am very late to the game but I freaking love this shade! It’s a great everyday shade for me. I would describe it as a warm pinky brown shade. It’s mandatory that we wear masks in Trinidad- so I tend not to wear any other lip products besides lip liner, until I can completely remove my mask. Lipliner is extremely long lasting which is perfect for the current climate. MAC lipliners need no further explanation.
You can find this liner in MAC stores locally as well as maccosmetics.com
KKW Beauty Nude Gloss – Nude 6
– I was convinced I would hate these. Tried one and became obsessed! I really love the tones of some of these glosses, but this is my favorite. Nude 6 is a deep brown nude gloss. I do find these glosses are a bit sticky, which allows it to stay on your lips for a bit more time than usual. I also need to mention I hate the scent, but it does fade eventually.
You can pick this up at Ulta stores, kkwbeauty.com as well as Bella Russe.
NARS Soft Matte Complete Foundation in Syracuse*
– This foundation is everything!!! If you’re only able to check out one item from this list – this HAS to be it. It took me awhile to grab this foundation, but I’m so glad I did. Firstly, NARS makes amazing complexion products. They have an extensive shade range, as well as products for all skin types. Exceptional!
I love this foundation because it’s everything I love in one. As the name suggests, it is a soft matte finish foundation. It’s not heavy at all, which also prevents it from looking cakey. Very little product is needed to do a full face. I rarely get oily or have to touch up this foundation. It lasts what seems like forever and a day. I also appreciate how to the point the packaging is – it’s a compact squeeze tube. Very easy to get product out. Highly recommend this product.
Just to tell you how much I’m obsessing over this, I have it as a possible wedding day foundation🙊LOVE IT!
Locally this can be found at Bella Russe. As always, NARS can be picked up at Sephora internationally.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax
– Finally a good product from the ABH! Feels like forever since I’ve loved a product from them, but this is it! My brows are very unruly, and this is the only thing I’ve found that tames them. It gets every single brow hair. I find it to be very long lasting as well. Only a little product is needed to get a tamed brow. This is also great product to use if you like the laminated brow look. It’s clear so you’re still able to fill in with your favorite products. Great product, and happy ABH is back in the game with this one!
Find it at Sephora, and Bella Russe.
Considering this post is already a bit long, I’ll post my fashion and faith favorites soon. Also, everything with asterisk can be bought in the Sephora Spring Sale. I’ll also be posting a separate list with my Sephora picks and wishlist -which I’m really excited about! Bella Russe can be found on Instagram.
Let me know your favorites that you’ve been loving! Is there anything on my list you’ve tried?
Thank you for reading. I’ll see you guys, sooner than you think!
