It’s day three of launch week, and I’m so glad you’ve chosen to join me today!
As I mentioned in my relaunch post, I am beginning to pay closer attention to locally made products and I am especially excited to talk about these next few items! #SupportLocal
After all my personal care products ran out after moving back to Trinidad, I remember having to visit Pennywise – a one-stop-shop for all your toiletry and beauty needs. I remember coming across a body soap whose packaging got me, but its ingredients are what made me put into my shopping basket. I wasn’t even a huge body soap type of person. I much prefer the feel of body washes, but I knew I wanted to try this. D’or Beauty Soap is now my favorite in shower bath soap. This made me pay close attention to its manufacturer, CGA Caribbean, and its product launches.

About a year ago, I noticed they launched a clean beauty line, Cedros Bay Cosmetics. While I’m not a huge advocate of clean beauty (yet), this definitely interested me. They launched with quite a few new products but at the time, I was particularly interested in the Coconut Coffee Body Scrub. Not to mention, my all-time favorite Tree Hut Body Scrub had just finished, so I was in need of a new scrub. Again, I made a trip to Pennywise after it became available instore and managed to get the last one.
The Cedros Bay Coconut Coffee Body Scrub is made with coffee grounds, coconut oil, sea salt, and a combination of your favorite oils. It claims to smoothen your skin along with fade blemishes and reduce the appearance of cellulite. Later that night, I used it for the first time and was blown away. The texture and formulation of it are insane! It’s gritty enough to exfoliate your skin, but not too rough to the point of damaging your skin cells – which is very important to me. For me, the coffee revitalizes your skin, while the coconut oil leaves it feeling silky. I must admit, at first I wasn’t a fan of the smell. It’s quite strong and a bit overpowering. However, over time, I’ve gotten used to it and now enjoy the scent. It’s also worth noting that it can leave you with a slightly messy shower or tub. It’s a small price to pay for silky, smooth skin.
Being so impressed with one of their scrubs, I naturally became inclined to try the Coconut Body Scrub as well. This particular scrub has coconut oil, sea salt, and also a combination of other oils. Like the Coconut Coffee Scrub, it is quite exfoliating but also polishes the skin for a more hydrated appearance. Upon the first try, the scent is a lot more bearable. I use each scrub once for the week (which means I exfoliate twice a week.) I tend to use the coffee scrub for more of a thorough exfoliation while I use the coconut scrub as maintenance. This is just my personal preference.
I use both of these solely on my body and stay clear of using them on my face. Both scrubs work very well and I look always look forward to using them in the shower. If I had to choose just one though, I’d go with the coffee scrub. I find it to be a lot more beneficial to my skin and its needs. I think it packs more a punch and I prefer that for my body exfoliants.
Another note, totally unrelated to the products themselves, Cedros Bay has a great social media presence! As a brand, they seem to be very transparent. I find that questions are frequently answered via Instagram. The brand seems so accessible that it makes me want to try a lot more of their products and I look forward to new launches. Gabrielle Agostini, a representative of the brand is often on IG Live and discusses formulations. She also at times mentions other brands to compare and contrast which gives more perspective on Cedros Bay’s products. Their influencer demographic is very diverse as well, and it’s refreshing to see. It makes it very easy to purchase from them.
I hope I have convinced you to try if not one, both of these scrubs. All in all, they work! They’re extremely accessible and easy to purchase. I have linked their website and Instagram so be sure to check them out. I promise you won’t regret it.
Have you tried any of their products yet? Which ones? Be sure to comment below and let’s chat!
I’ll see you tomorrow for the day four of my launch week.
Stay safe, friends!
