Here We Go, Again!

When I first launched my blog in 2016, I was incredibly eager and excited. At the time, I was fulfilling a dream of mine to combine two things that I thoroughly enjoyed – writing and beauty. Launching a website, was and still is a very big deal to me. It’s a step in the right direction that helps me conquer a major fear of mine (we’ll get to that at some point). 

So let’s get into it…

In this world, there is always a need to be current and to move on to the next best/big thing. I personally despise that. I began to detest it even more after my move back to Trinidad and Tobago. New products and merchandise weren’t as easily accessible to me like it was back when I was living in New Jersey (US). I felt like I was always behind, even though I was already fully enjoying the products I already owned. It’s a major reason as to why my blogging became inconsistent and eventually, nonexistent. I say all this to say, I don’t intend on this being a place with only new products. While that of course is a part of it, realistically, I enjoy and use a lot of older products and services as well.  I want that to continue to be highlighted and appreciated. I also do not want to feel guilty for using things aren’t always shiny and new. I am an everyday girl, in every sense of the way – and I hope to bring that across. 

One of my main concerns with becoming or rather being an aspiring blogger is also being mistaken as an aspiring influencer. Now, let me just say there is nothing wrong with being an influencer. Heck, I follow and admire a lot of them! However, within the last couple of years – the term influencer to me doesn’t necessarily always equate authenticity. To be honest, I just don’t see myself in that light yet – and that’s okay! I intend to talk about things I really and truly love, but also the things that don’t necessarily work for me and explain why. Like I said, I’m an everyday girl – who absolutely balls on a budget – and I intend to bring that realness to this blog.

Let me just say though, I have found a couple trustworthy influencers who I adore, and I’m sure I will mention them as time goes on.

The Expansion

• Faith

First time around, I occasionally wrote about my views and my faith. This time, I intend to be a lot more intentional. I believe I am in a better position to speak on certain subjects. As a born-again believer and Christian, I believe in The Great Commission, and hopefully my writings lead you to pursing a relationship with Christ. I think also, I’d just like to create a space where we can discuss spirituality openly and judgement free. I am constantly learning about myself and trying to improve my relationship with God and with that, I tend to experience some growing pains. Some of which I plan on documenting on here in hope that it helps one of you.

• Lifestyle & Fashion

Ah, I am excited about this one! I took a break from this aspect of my life for a while, but I think I’m back. I will forever be obsessed with clothes, accessories and shoes. Listen, I can’t wait to explore and share my loves and findings. I am not a holy grail fashionista, BUT, I find great deals and I enjoy sharing them. But not for nothing, ya girl loves getting dressed and looking good too! (LOL)

• Support Local

This is entirely new to my blog, and it’s going to be great! Like I may have mentioned once, (or 2000 times before), I moved back to my homeland of Trinidad and Tobago. It’s been about three years since I’ve been back. I can now comfortably say, I am fully acclimated. I am proud to be from this country, and proud to be from the Caribbean. We have such amazing resources and talent and it’s amazing to witness and be apart of. I’d like to highlight what I’ve found and been loving – in hopes of you discovering and finding new favs as well!

So, I hope you’re ready to rejoin me on this journey! I look forward to creating, exploring and sharing the good and the bad with you. I’m also excited to hear your feedback and also to get a feeling of what you’d like to see overtime. I thank God for never allowing this love of mine to completely go away, and for giving me the courage to restart this journey (cause chileeeee, it wasn’t easy, lol).
